Mónica Velasco Carrero is a Sustainable Finance Advisor at GIZ Mexico. She brings 15 years of experience in public investment, infrastructure finance, and sustainable development. Her work focuses on advancing sustainable finance through technical assistance connecting multilateral funds, development banks, and public institutions, with emphasis on ESG disclosure and stakeholder engagement.
Before joining GIZ, Mónica held leadership roles in government agencies and regional initiatives in Latin America, where she designed and evaluated PPPs, advised on policy, and supported blended finance instruments. She also worked with NGOs and international agencies, delivering feasibility assessments, training programs, and guidance for public and private partners.
Her experience bridges public policy, implementation, and financial innovation, enabling solutions that support climate action and sustainability.
