Siphelele is a Senior Advisor in Sustainable Finance at GIZ, South Africa. He provides technical and strategic guidance to South African partner institutions in the development of South Africa’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) and National Adaptation Plan (NAP) project pipeline. This involves identifying and pursuing suitable sustainable finance tools to support implementation. Prior to this, he held the role of ESG & Responsible Investment Analyst with Old Mutual where he led research and portfolio assessments aligned with the Net-Zero Asset Owner Alliance and United Nations backed Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). He also worked in consulting, managing environmental and sustainability due diligence for projects across mining, infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, industrial process, logistics, and agriculture.
Siphelele holds degrees in Environmental Management and Geography from the University of South Africa
