Susann Tischendorf is an experienced professional in private sector development. Over the past 15 years, she led and supported reform projects in the areas of investment climate reform and disaster risk finance in Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, South America, Southeast Asia, and South Asia. She joined GIZ in 2017 as a component manager for the Inclusive Business Global Project, then worked with the private sector on the GIZ programme ‘AFRIKA KOMMT!’, and is now an advisor on sustainable finance in the Sustainable Economic and Financial Systems Sector Project. Previously, she held positions at the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund in Washington, D.C. (USA). Furthermore, she managed a project at the United Nations. Susann also has a strong journalistic background. Hence, she has consistently been dedicated to integrating innovative digital and media approaches into her projects to enhance their impact.
Susann holds a Master’s Degree from Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies (Italy and USA) and a Master’s Degree from the University of the Arts Berlin's Media and Design faculty (Germany), as well as having studied at Sorbonne University (France).
