Connecting organisations seeking capital to create and scale solutions to social and environmental issues with small-scale investors

Impact Crowdlending Platform

Description

The Impact Crowdlending Platform operated by Sitawi connects companies and organisations seeking capital to create and scale solutions to social and environmental issues with small-scale investors that want to invest in projects with a positive socio-environmental impact.

Project context

The Sitawi Impact Crowdlending Platform is one of five innovative green finance approaches that received support from the Technical Assistance Facility of the FiBraS I project under Component 3, which aims to improve the supply of green financial services and instruments in Brazil.

With the objective to scale the impact of the Impact Crowdlending Platform, FiBraS I supported the restructuring and relaunch of the platform by conducting market studies, providing technical assistance to enhance the process for originating, assessing and accompanying impact projects, advising on its marketing campaign and investor outreach, and providing operational and technological improvements to the platform.

Target group

  • SMEs, start-ups, cooperatives, and other organisations with a positive socio-environmental impact business and projects seeking capital.
  • Small-scale investors interested in positive socio-environmental impact investments.

Status

The new platform was launched in October 2021.

Disbursements since launch of the new platform: R$5.6 million benefiting 12 organisations (as of September 2022).
