Ranjin Fernando is an advisor on sustainable finance with a focus on advising and training banks in their sustainability journey. He is an environmental engineer with more than 10 years of experience in climate change, water and sanitation, and sustainable finance. Prior to joining the Sustainable Finance Team at GIZ, Ranjin worked as a consultant for KfW, EIB, EU Commission, IADB, and other organisations, assisting, for example, in setting up and implementing green credit lines for renewable energy and energy efficiency investments. He assisted financial institutions in developing environmental and social risk management systems and conducted environmental and social due diligence for multiple lending processes. Ranjin holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Hamburg University of Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Management from Brandenburg University of Technology.
