José is an advisor in Sustainable Finance at GIZ, where he focuses on Central Bank advisory. Prior to joining GIZ, he was an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), specializing in Sustainable Finance and International Financial Markets. He has consulted for the African Development Bank on the Long-Term Finance Initiative, providing technical and strategic advice on statistical capacity building. As a Real Estate Analyst at ABN Amro Bank b.v., he developed tools for macro- and micro-level analysis. He started his career as an architect, managing several architectural projects. José holds a PhD Degree in Finance from the Erasmus University Rotterdam (NL), and a Licentiate Degree in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (PT).
